Current CRPD board chair

I am running for the position of director for the Conejo Recreation and Park District. I am currently on the board. I was elected to the board four years ago and am currently the board chair.

During the last four years, I have built relationships with CRPD administrative staff, the other board members and employees at CRPD. In addition to CRPD employees, I have become acquainted with and worked with many of the community partners that are associated with CRPD. I have been involved in approving the budget, working with audits, updating our strategic plan and all other aspects of Conejo Recreation and Park District. The last four years have been a learning experience. I am an experienced candidate.

I have found that the employees of CRPD are dedicated, creative and work very hard to meet the needs of our community with the constraints of budget and space. Conejo Rec and Park is fiscally responsible. As I am an experienced board member, I can easily work with CRPD management and employees to continue serving our community and to continue to be fiscally responsible. I am very accessible to the public and will listen to their wants and desires for our parks and open space.

My husband, Harvey, and I have lived in the Conejo Valley for 42 years and raised our five children here. I’ve been a park volunteer for 30 years and strongly believe in the importance of quality parks and open space for our community. Having accessibility to our parks, including the many programs that were available to my children growing up, gave them many opportunities for growth and education. Being involved with the parks and open space enriched my family and helped my husband and me build lasting family traditions for our family. This is why I want to be involved.
