As a local real estate agent, I have long promoted CRPD’s 50 parks, 150 miles of open space trails, eight community facilities, and the thousands of programs offered. I grew up playing soccer at Old Meadows Park and Conejo Creek South, going to dances at the Teen Center, summer concerts in the park, hiking in Wildwood and celebrating milestones with family and friends at our beautiful parks. I walked my babies in the evening to Conejo Community Park to watch the sunset and push them on the swings. I love the enchantment that our parks, trails, and community centers bring to the Conejo Valley. This is why my husband Danny and I have stayed in the area where we grew up, to give our children the same abundant opportunities we had. I believe in giving back by helping to preserve the traditions of our big little Conejo Valley.

I am running to serve and protect the magic of Conejo Valley by focusing on fire prevention, emergency help, protecting our beautiful natural landscape, and providing accessibility to our open space, playgrounds and programs.

[What are the most pressing issues?]

Fire prevention/emergency help

Continue the priority of necessary brush clearance and reduce the danger to our neighborhoods while maintaining our community’s natural beauty.

Maintain evacuation centers

This resource has been invaluable, and I look forward to seeing how we can improve and build upon being an institution the community turns to in both good times and in our moments of greatest need.

Accessibility

All residents should enjoy the restorative effects of our natural surroundings with ease.

Conejo Valley Recreation and Park District programs, facilities and trails are for all residents. It is imperative to maintain trails and hiking safety for all, allowing outdoor experiences for the weekend visitor, local school field trips exploring Wildwood, and the avid nature enthusiasts.

Maintaining park grounds and water pipes is necessary for those thirsty children on the playground and senior citizens walking for exercise. We want all our residents to enjoy our open spaces and neighborhood parks.

Dreamcatcher Park and Los Robles Trail are wonderful examples of how we can continue to ensure we are planning spaces that consider all ability levels.

As residential living shifts to larger density along the Thousand Oaks Boulevard corridor, there must be enough accessible parks for children and adults in those areas.

The present leadership has done well updating many of our older parks over the last several years. The present leadership has yet to find a way to pay for updating of the community centers, which serve many people in our community with recreation classes. Many of these buildings were built over 50 years ago. They do not have enough room for the current population that uses them and are in need of updating the buildings. I have dedicated myself to serving our community from being the event chair of the Thousand Oaks Rotary Chili Cook-off since 2018, which raised $135,000 net to local charities this year, resource development chair of Senior Concerns since 2018, as well as a shareholder and board member of Aviara Real Estate in Westlake Village. I look at this as a greater opportunity to give back to a community that has given me so much since 1988. My husband, fire captain Danny Lampert, and I feel so grateful to raise our two daughters where we grew up.
