Why me? I am the most qualified and experienced non-incumbent running: Twenty years on the Traffic and Transportation Commission and the last six years on the Planning Commission. My leadership and service to the community go back 37 years. Please see my website for my endorsements, my service and my vision for this wonderful city. McMahon4TO.com

The top issues right now are housing and the homeless. I have been through the General Master Plan draft process and know the benefits that it will bring to the city. Benefits to our residents, with more housing, benefits to the businesses, by creating a more vibrant downtown corridor, and it will make the city safer and will add housing while protecting the treasured single-family residential neighborhoods and our treasured open space.

The homeless is a community and regional issue. We need to partner with the county, the state, and the service and private sectors to work together to solve this problem.

The current leadership had a 2 1/2 year outreach to the community to get input on the draft master plan update. They did a good job, along with their consultants, to listen to our residents’ preferences and take them into account when drafting it. Now, when it comes back for a final vote, with the environmental study, it needs to be passed.

Our leadership has also worked on solutions to the homeless problem, acquiring a large state grant and purchasing a property to create a homeless shelter. I know they haven’t stopped searching for more solutions, and I will continue their good work.

I listen to everyone. I want to hear what our residents’ concerns are. I will be accessible to everyone.
