Stimulus Bill Allocation

As we pass the one-year mark since the COVID pandemic virtually shut down the nation, we now face another 2021 COVID Relief Bill. The actual amount targeting COVID relief is less than 9% of the $1.9 trillion package.  The pie chart shows where this bill has allocated the taxpayers’ money.  If we add it to all the bills passed in 2020, they total $5.3 trillion—keep in mind there is nearly $1 trillion from the 2020 Relief Bill left unspent. Critics are concerned that this will plunge our country into crippling…

Irwin’s Bill Reduces Government Transparency in Death Records

As California recovers from the strong public response to the COVID-19 outbreak, one proposed state measure by Ventura County’s representative would make it more difficult to research and discover causes of death, including deaths due to COVID-19. California Assembly Member Jacqui Irwin has authored a new bill, AB 268, which would add Section 27523 to the government code and change what the county medical examiner’s office is allowed to reveal to the public. The bill would “prohibit the disclosure of any report of death, autopsy report, investigation summary, toxicology report,…

Frontline Workers Not Eager For Vaccine

Recent findings from the Franklin Templeton-Gallup Economics of Recovery Survey looked at frontline workers’ willingness, specifically healthcare workers and first responders, to get a COVID-19 vaccine.  Surprisingly, 51% of these “Tier 1A workers” did NOT say they would agree to get the vaccine even if it was “free, available, FDA-approved, and 90% effective.” Gallup Poll Front-line Workers No Keener Than Others to Get Vaccine The Biggest COVID-19 Vaccine Skeptics? No Increase In Death Rate By COVID-19 In The United States

The following is adapted and printed with permission by Dr. Genevieve Briand from her working paper “COVID-19 Deaths A Look at U.S. Data FEB 2021”  The objective of this analysis is not to produce an “excess deaths number estimate”, but to assess whether the total deaths number the U.S. experienced in 2020 was unexpected or alarming. The data presented in this paper are not estimates—they are records of past deaths, maintained and made publicly available by the CDC. They have not been produced, adjusted, nor tampered with, in any way,…

Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine

It’s time for everyone to be as informed as possible about the new COVID-19 vaccines. In February 2021, the FDA issued an “emergency use authorization” (not FDA approval) for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson for individuals 18 years old and older. Unlike the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, which consist of a series of two injections, the Janssen Vaccine is only one shot. It also works using a slightly different mechanism — spike protein DNA instead of mRNA. The DNA for the spike protein of COVID-19 is…

Local Wedding Venue Reaches Breaking Point Due To Lockdowns

County and State anti-business mandates continue to drive local businesses to the brink of extinction. Soroor Campbell, owner of The Vineyards, a wedding and event venue in Simi Valley, says she has had to cancel $1.7 million in reservations and counting, including $600,000 in prom business alone. “I’m on the verge of losing everything,” says Campbell. “What I don’t understand is how the County can provide instructions for other businesses to open, but not us. We have the room to socially distance; we have acres of space outdoors; we can…
