CDC Update on COVID Testing and Post-Vaccine Quarantine

“People who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 3 months and recovered do not have to quarantine or get tested again as long as they do not develop new symptoms” (

You do not need to quarantine after completing the vaccination process when exposed to COVID-19 if the following criteria are met:

  • It has been at least two weeks since your final vaccine dose.
  • You have no symptoms of COVID-19.
  • It has been less than 3 months since the final vaccination dose. If it has been greater than 3 months since your final dose, you WILL need to quarantine based on current guidelines.
