Stacey Wasson is a veteran educator with a big vision for her students’ education. She possesses effortless insight to facilitate their learning, and exhibits a source of strong and gentle leadership in every aspect. We are proud to call her our December 2019 Teacher of the Month!
Ms. Wasson is a Math/Algebra teacher at Redwood Middle School, where she has taught for the last 21 years. Her wisdom helps guide teachers and administrators to serve students best. She empowers students, parents, and teachers to confidently explore ideas and find a path to success.
She is both easygoing and rigorous at the same time, a tough balancing act. Her students are challenged to take ownership of their math skills, and they are inspired to take increased personal responsibility of their learning. She holds the adoration of her students.
Ms. Wasson shares ideas that are keen, clearly communicated and valued. She tries thing out, provides succinct analysis, by core subject sometimes, and then helps a teacher or student learn to use the resource. She cooperatively analyzes and reports the best qualities and limitations of curriculum from online sources, district recommendations, and peer discoveries.
